The "North Forty Line" is a moving song about an old cowboy forced against his will to give up the hardships of range life and move to town. The old man says "I won't miss the cold chill of December wind, or puttin' up hay in the fall, or askin' the candle light, which bills to pay. I don't think, I'll miss that at all . . . ."
